[Fun] The frontview boys

2 guys decided to film the people that would check out their package. This in return to the 2 girls that installed a camera to check out the people that would check out their ass when walking around.

The original movie the girls made:

And some explanation from a guy, who does nothing else then to try to put all kinds of stuff in his microwave, to tell it is fake. So it's probably not very dangerous to make some gluewine in the microwave ;)

[Game] Just finished the single player missions of #Killzone3

Just one word would describe this game and the story line; WOW !

I really had a good time playing Killzone 3. Good story and really diverse gameplay. I played it with the Sony Sharpshooter gun attachment combined with the move controller and that was really awesome.

A good game combined with the move controller really works and it adds something to the game play.

[Movie] The Book of Eli

We watched this movie a few days ago. It's filmed by using a brownish filter which provides the post-apocalyptic look and feel. It's a good movie with a good guy, some bad guys and it has a nice twist at the end.

In a violent post-apocalyptic society, the drifter Eli has been wandering to west across North America for the last thirty years reading a unique book that he brings with him. He survives hunting small animals and seeking goods in destroyed houses and vehicles to trade in villages for water and supplies. When he reaches the village ruled by the powerful mobster Carnegie, the man offers a job to Eli to join his gang. Carnegie presses his blind lover Claudia to send her daughter Solara to convince Eli spending the night with him. The girl sees the book of Eli, and when Carnegie beats up on Claudia, she reveals that Eli has the sought book. Carnegie sends his gang to take the book from Eli, but the man is up for protecting the book with his life.

[News] Museum dedicated to 8 tracks opens next monday in Dallas

The Eight Track Museum opens on Monday in the Deep Ellum arts district of Dallas. If you're under 40 you may have never seen or heard an 8-track audio tape. The 5.25x4x.8 inch plastic tape cartridge was big and bulky, but it became wildly popular in cars in the 1960s. An 8-track cartridge contains a continuous loop of quarter-inch tape. The ends of the tape are linked by a metal foil splice, and the tape is divided along its length into 8 channels, or tracks (hence the name).

[Util] Nice utility for unlocking a locked file

Have you ever had the problem that you wanted to remove a directory, a movie or just a file ? I too have that problem once in a while and to battle this I used Unlocker 1.9.0 but it seems that there were some problems with the tool. Also the original link is no longer accessible.

I discovered lockhunter, a tool which can be installed on Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 on both x86 and x64 versions and which is free.

[Win7] Incompatibility between Office 2010 x64 and Windows Mobile center

I ran into this message in different occasions: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging problem". Also when trying to sync my Windows Mobile phone with my Windows 7 machine with Outlook 2010 installed.

Each time I started Outlook 2010 I was greeted with the message that Outlook was not my default mail client.

The problem was that I could not solve this by using the default actions, so I started searching on the internet. I was not alone, but most of the links I ran into talked about changing a registry key or by deleting a dll file. I tried but to no avail ...

I would not give up on this strange problem and finally I ran into the real cause; An incompatibility between Office 2010 x64 and Windows Mobile center is the problem and according to Microsoft they are not fixing it ...

The solution for me was to install the x86 version of Outlook, which is a bit strange since more and more applications are shifting to x64.

[PS3] Just played the beta of Killzone3 with the move controller, AWESOME !

I just finished a few multiplayer games with the beta of Killzone 3 while playing with the move controller in one hand and the navigation controller in the other. It was real fun to play a game this way instead of sitting down with a regular controller. It really pulls you into the game, so I can't wait till the special move gun for Killzone3 is released. Some info regarding the gun.

[Info] CNN; Group releases photos of uncontacted tribe

I just ran into this article on CNN, it was posted today and tells a story of the release of photos of an uncontacted tribe in Brazil near the Peruvian border. The intention is to ramp up pressure for Peru to crack down on illegal loggers in this region of the Amazon.

When I did some searching I discovered this story of May 2008 of the Daily Mail which also talks about red painted Indians which never had contact with the "civilized" world.

Some high resolution video footage from the tribes

[Dive] The Thistlegorm wreck in 3D

I stumbled onto the website of FourthElement via a twittermessage of @AbigailSmigel. I checked the website out and found some interesting pictures and a 3D wreck map of the Thistlegorm in Egypt.

It is still on my list of dive spots to do ... so I hope the situation calms down soon in Egypt.

Some info of the Thistlegorm

The SS Thistlegorm was a British armed Merchant Navy ship, which sank on 6 October 1941 near Ras Muhammad in the Red Sea. In the early fifties Jacques Cousteau discovered her using information from local fishermen, today its accessible depth as well as being relatively intact, make it one of the most popular dive sites in the world.

[Tech] Rootkit in PS3 firmware v3.56, will they never learn ?

According to Mathieulh, the guy that discovered the rootkey of the Playstation Portable from a hacked PS3, the new firmware contains a rootkit. With this rootkit Sony will be able to execute code remotely as soon as the console is connected to the internet. Read more

This rootkit can then be used by Sone to detect if homebrew software is installed on the console. But a lot more is possible of course. Do you still remember the previous disaster of a Sony rootkit ?
